INTRODUCTION
From this year, Gateway Institute of Science and Technology [GIET] will be conducting a Science carnival every year. Where school and college students of age group 15-25yrs. from all over Delhi and Haryana will participate. All you have to do is to prepare a working projects from any of the following categories mentioned below. Compete between different institutions and participants and prove yourself/your team/your Institution the best.
To prove yourself the best among the bests, this is your opportunity. You might have heard, "Opportunity doesn't knock you door. You have to search for it.". Your search is now over. All you have to do is to register as soon as possible.

ELIGIBILITY/INSTRUCTIONS
1. To be eligible to participate in the GIET Science Carnival a student must be under 25 years of age, attending classes in a public, private or parochial school. Community College students and Vocational students are eligible. The project must be the work of student(s).
2. A school/college may send a maximum of 4 projects.
3.Group exhibits may be accepted with a maximum of four students per project.
4.To participate in the GIET Science Carnival, the participant must complete web based registration
process provided on the link mentioned below. Last date of registration is 31st January, 2015.
5.A sum of Rs.300 will be charged as registration fee, late registration will be charged a total
amount of Rs.500.
6. Entry is free for the Non-Participating Students (for being a spectator to this carnival).
CATEGORIES
The GIET Science Carnival has adopted the seven categories used at this carnival:
1. Discovery – Create new fundamental knowledge based on your curiosity by asking a question
and using the techniques of scientific knowledge to develop an answer.
2. Energy – Improve our use of current energy sources, or reduce our energy footprint.
3. Environment – Reduce our impact on, improve our understanding of, and ensure the quality
of water, air, soil, and the diversity of living things.
4. Health – Increase our understanding of the human body, or apply science and technology
to improve health, control disease, or support an aging population.
5. Information – Enhance communication and our use of information using digital and
networking technologies, or applications of new media.
6. Innovation – Combine scientific principles with your creativity to develop a new material,
structure, device, or system to solve a new problem or improve an existing solution.
7. Resources – Develop better ways to use our natural resources that provide sustainable
sources of food, products, or prosperity.
During registration, participants will identify the “category” best addressed by their project.
AWARDS
Awards will be given to the top projects within a category listed above.
Participants will be provided with a participation certificate.

Winners will be provided with a certificate, top three cash prizes and tags as
Rs.11000, 7100, 5100 to Genius Award, Challenge Award and Special Award respectively.FAQ(s)
A1) As told above, there will be three awards with a winning amount of 11K, 7.1K, 5.1K for 1st, 2nd and 3rd rank winners only.
Q2) What is the last date of registration?
A2) The last date for registration is 31st January 2015. After this date, every registration will be charged a sum of Rs.200 extra as their late registration fine.

A3) To register, you need to pay the fees and fill the online registration form at:

Q4) How much registration fees has to be payed?
A4) A sum of Rs. 300 is the registration fees per registration/group. After the due-date or late registrations will be charged of Rs.200 extra making a total of Rs.500 .
Q5) How should I pay registration fees?
A5) You can pay the registration fees by three ways:
(i) Direct Pay at GIET Campus,
(ii) Contact any of the head co-coordinators mentioned below in other FAQ(s),
or
(iii) Pay the registration fees by a Demand Draft , Pay Order or Cash Deposit in GIET's bank a/c*

Q6) Is any document/proof necessary to register?
A6) Yes, there is. After your online registration. On the day of science carnival, a participant has to come with his/her ID-Card provided by the school. The ID-Card must contain the same name as that of filled in the form.
Q7) My school/college doesn't provides a ID-Card. Which proof should I come with?
A7) A school student can come with any photocopy of a proof/document* attested by the school's principal. And a college school can come with their Voter ID-Card/Driving License*.
*Provided the proof/document or Voter ID/Driving License contains the same name as that of filled in the registration form.
